| Fishing Trip. First, we meet for a fishing trip. “A fishing trip!” Yes, but it’s not with poles and hooks. We just meet and fish for information. I’m sure you want to know about Abild Homes (our staff has done over 200 homes) and we want to know what you want in a new home. Do you need formal and informal spaces? How many bedrooms and bathrooms? Do you want a basement foundation or a crawl space? Where are you gong to build? When are you going to build? Do you want one floor or two? Tell us about your style of home. Country? French? Colonial? You may not have all of the answers at first, but after a while we’ll be able to come up with a plan that suits your taste and your budget. |
| Design. Your ideas will come to life on our computer as shown on the previous page. If you have access to a computer and email, our designer will email the plans for your review. You will receive a free version of our software so you can examine the floor plan, the rooms and the electrical layout. Your home will be built inside of our computer before you ever buy it. We will know everything about your home before it is built. This assures all of us that you are getting exactly the home you want. |
| Specifications. As we work on the design, we will list in detail everything you want in your home and how it will be built. We will be very specific about the lumber, siding, roofing, windows, insulation, plumbing fixtures, floor covering, lighting, wood work, cabinets and… Well, you get the idea. We want to spell it all out for you so you have no surprises. |
| Price and Contract. By this time, you will have a firm price from Abild Homes. Our price is guaranteed not to change from contract signing to completion of the project. You won’t have to worry about cost over runs. Once we agree on the plans, specifications and price, it is time to “sign ‘er up.” Your signature and a 5% deposit (refundable if you are unable to secure financing) give us permission to proceed with your new home. |
| Financing your new Abild Home. We have excellent sources of funds. We have shopped and found some of the lowest closing costs in the industry. The money you save on financing can purchase more house or some of our many options. You may also use your own bank. |
| Decorating. Okay, ladies (guys, you can come too), this is the fun part. You will meet with our interior decorator who will “hold your hand” through the selection process. You have four hours to pick her brain and throw your ideas at her. She won’t make any decisions for you because this is your home. But you might just like some of her ideas and suggestions. And… we make this easy. You don’t have to run all over town to pick out all of the things you will need. We have most of the samples on display in our office. |
| Stake Out. It’s about time to throw some dirt! Meet us at the building site and show us where you want the house. We’ll stake it out for you and give you an estimated start and finish date. |
| Let the fun begin. Here we go. Put on your hard hat and watch the dirt fly. The excavators will start to dig. Lumber will be delivered and the show begins. You will have complete access to your home during construction. We do NOT lock our customers out. We need your eyes and ears during the construction process. Kris Abild, the owner of Abild Homes is on each job site almost every day, but we still depend on our customers to help us keep on eye on things. If you see something that needs our attention, just call us! Tell us what you see and we’ll get right to it. |
| During the construction process, we will want to meet you on site at least three or four times. These meetings are to assure that everything is on track and being done the way that you want them to be done. It’s your home and your satisfaction is our goal. |
| Time line. Most homes can be completed in about four months from the time we start digging until the home is completed. Winter builds can take as long as six months. |
