Laura and I would like to let you know that we love everything about our home. When we came to you in late 2007 we knew what floor plan we wanted and you took our plan and put it into a working floor plan and a 3 D model on your computer. After looking at the 3 D model on your computer it was close but not exactly what we were looking for on the outside of our ranch home. My wife was looking for something more elegant rather than a typical ranch style home. Within a few days Jack was able to transform the ranch into exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Laura and I knew from day one that if we could get what we were looking for and nail down 95% of the details we were going to build with you company, we had an excellent experience from start to finish.
The weather in late 2007 was such that you were able to break ground around Thanksgiving with a finish date in late March 2008. We were amazed at how fast the concrete work went in and the walls started popping up. We love the fact that during the construction process you were out taking pictures and putting together a CD from start to finish and gave us a copy as a keepsake. As with any project there were things along the way that we decided to change and upgrade and you were very accommodating to keep us in the loop along the way. We would get an email or phone call from Jack and he would tell us what the next step would be and make sure we were on top of it so if a change was in order we could make it without little interruption to the process. We would always get a call and tell us several weeks in advance that we needed to pick out lighting, flooring, carpet, etc. All of the people that we had to work with to pick out our items were very good to work with and we always knew what our budget was for each item we were picking out. One example was our lighting, we worked with All Phase Electric and my wife would go out at her leisure and pick out all items that were needed for each room and had a person working with her that could help coordinate all fixtures so they matched somewhat and the house had a good flow to it. Kris had an interior decorator that worked with my wife for a certain number of hours to help her with matching colors from wall paints to trim and siding.
One thing that you always hear is that building a home can be stressful and rough on a marriage. My wife felt more stress that I did picking out colors and fixtures for the home but we had a very good experience because Jack and Kris take all of the stress on by lining up the contractors and dealing with the cancellations due to weather and making sure things are completed in a timely manner. We worked with MidWest Electric when we started our project and had them meet with Kris and we determined we wanted to build a 5 star energy efficient home so we could get a break for 2 years on our electric and also get all of the tax credits we could on the home. Kris was very excited about this project and did not take any shortcuts. I have built at least 3 houses in my life and I knew what were cheap ways of building verses doing it the right way. Kris and Jack did exactly what any home owner would want, they built a solid home and they paid attention to the details.
We had several times after the house was complete that we noticed some very minor issues with the house and with just a phone call or an email the issue was corrected. Kris told us that after a year they would come back out and fix any issues that were related to the house settling and I am very pleased to say we have not had any drywall cracks and it will be one year this April that we moved in. We have had no serious issues other than a few doors that need adjusted and Abild has stood by their word to make these minor adjustments.
I ran into Jack the other day and told him that anyone interested in building a home with Abild homes would be more than welcome to stop by and take a tour of our home. We are very please and most of all we are happy with our utility bills. We installed a geothermal heat system and our house is 100% electric. I have forwarded my electric bills for the past year to Kris and Jack so they can share with you the savings. Not only did we lock in a 2 year rate with Midwest they gave us a $1000 to build a 5 star home plus we received $2000 back this year as a tax credit. The money we got back was more than enough to help pay for the extra insulation we put in and we will continue to save money along the way. I would highly recommend Abild Homes to build a new home for you. You will be very pleased with the service and the outcome of your project.

Our experience with Abild Homes was great. From the very beginning we received excellent service and attention. They were concerned with our needs, wants, and helped to make our dreams come true. I absolutely loved working with them and seeing a model of our home on the computer in 3D and what the finished home would look like. It really helped us to see what it would look like when the project was complete. The Amish crew that came out to put up the frame of the house was very professional. They worked hard from the moment they arrived at our house till the time they left. They were very friendly and didn't mind making changes to the work they started, if what we pictured for our house was not in the original design plans. I got used to them showing up first thing in the morning and being around all day that I hated to see them go. Mr. Jack Trenor almost seemed to read our minds when he was working on the designs for our recreation room. He helped us to plan and optimize the space in the room with what we were planning to fill it with. And gave us excellent advice when we weren't quite sure what to choose from their many options of finishing touches. Mr. Kris Abild was on site throughout the whole project. If we had a question he was there to answer it. When they encountered a problem, which they had a lot of with our old home, he was there to talk to us about what could be done to make our home stable and secure. They took one wall and tore it down because when the home was originally built it was unsecured and bowed. Everything they did to our home, and for us, has improved our lives, and the value of our home. We had a lot of fun working with them and even conspired on a practical joke against the owner.
