The Edgewater is a “convertible” plan and can be built in stages. Start with the “cabin” and later add the porches, garage and bonus room. Down stairs, the kitchen and living room can “trade places.” The upstairs can have a bedroom and loft or two bedrooms and a balcony.

Don't let the small appearance of this home fool you. It is designed for a narrow lot, but it has a lot of livable space. Available with three or four bedrooms. If three bedrooms are desired, the wall between either the front two bedrooms or the two rear bedrooms can be removed. The backporch is in a great private area. This home can be built on a crawl space or a basement.

If this plan looks a little familiar, it should. Although we have greatly updated it, this is a replica of the Ohio Farmhouse. Similar plans dot the western half of the state. Drive up and down most country roads and a version of this house will be seen.

Although we are showing it from an angle, this house usually has the narrow front facing the road. Our version can sit with the narrow end facing the road or it can be turned.

My family and I lived in a version of this house for five years. It is located on Grubb Road in Allen County, Ohio. It was a great place to live. We loved the flow of room to room and all of the rooms are large. Although it is a real country house, my wife added a great deal of sophistication to the dining room, living room and master bedroom. So, we really fell in love with the plan.

Job 09-004

The customer has a home built in the 1860's. The house is extremely well built. Exterior walls are three bricks deep and interior walls are two bricks thick. The original house was built in two sections. The front of the house is a two story and the back of the house is one story. Many years after the home was built, an eat-in kitchen was added to the back. The house has a large living room, but this is a family of die-hard Lions fans. They like to play pool and have a collection of pin-ball machines, but they needed a room for the pool table and the machines and a collection of Lions souveniers. After much thought and planning, the new game room would be built above the existing living room.
